The café takes great pride in sourcing its beans directly from growers, and is particularly fond of the Kenyan beans they use. The café's fit-out was designed and constructed by Josh McCallum of Wholegrain Studio, and features an old, timber-framed window that was revived to serve as a beautiful centerpiece for the bar. Dokeo is a specialty coffee roaster and café located in the heart of Adelaide's CBD. The café is housed in an old motorcycle workshop that has been transformed into a unique and inviting space. The name Dokeo, meaning to contemplate, reflects the café's commitment to showcasing small producers and encouraging customers to be mindful of where their purchases come from. The co-owners, Vasily Sekerin and Daniel Gregg, bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the café. Vas, a winemaker by trade, has a background in coffee and Dan, an economist, spends his days working to educate coffee farmers in Uganda on ethically produced and traded coffee. Through his business, Intersection Traders, Dan frequently travels to Uganda, building relationships with farmers and helping to provide them with better conditions and connecting them to their harvests. The café is located next to Ensemble, a retail shop run by Caitlin's sister, Anny. The café serves a simple menu of bagels, toasties, and seasonal plant-based dishes, using bread from The Lost Loaf, coffee from Monday’s and cakes by Caitlin's mother, Kate. The interior is minimalistic, with light and bright walls, white chairs, and timber tabletops and countertops. The coffee is served in cups by Aoon Pottery, picked up by Anny in Thailand, and Emma Sadie Thomson who runs Ensemble has crafted planter boxes with herbs to be used for cooking. The aprons are made from leftover linen from Anny’s label, Good Studios, which makes for a unique touch to the café.
